KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Investment Management team is looking to add an individual to support all aspects of the investment, management, and reporting activities of the group.  The successful individual will bring a strong, thoughtful work ethic to the group with particular emphasis to: 

  • Extensive financial modeling in support of the Investment Management platform.
    • Use of pivot tables and other analytical tools in Excel to evaluate investments in individual loans and loan portfolios underlying debt securities as well as other debt and equity investment structures.
    • Use of data tables and other analytical tools in Excel to provide sensitivity analysis based on assumptions of key variables in the valuation models.
    • Use of array formulas and vlookup tables to automate inputs
    • Use of statistical functions within Excel to analyze large amounts of data, determine its relevance, and use it for extrapolation purposes
    • Model complex capital structures and waterfall scenarios  
  • Support the diligence, review, pricing and investment committee presentations for investments under consideration.
  • Support Investment Management team, taking on responsibility supporting the firm’s professionals in facilitating investment decisions and making presentations.
  • The position will perform financial and market analysis, including valuation analysis.
  • Additionally, the analyst/associate will assist with the preparation of investor presentations, reporting and the preparation of marketing materials.
  • Support property level analysis involving market review, asset/portfolio review and due diligence.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
2 to 4 years of financial analysis of real estate-based financial models.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred
  • A strong working knowledge of real estate terminology, asset characteristics, market analysis, and asset-level analysis for major property types. 
  • Highly- skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and proficiency in database structure.
  • Strong analytical abilities and exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to communicate ideas (written and verbally) clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly with little supervision and instruction, but also work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Desire to work as part of a small, highly-entrepreneurial team
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of mortgage securitization process, structures and mechanics
  • Experience in commercial mortgage finance, real estate and/or development
  • Commercial Real Estate Property knowledge and expertise.
