Be Aviv is a multi-platform, real estate investment firm focused on value-add investments, ground-up development, and specialty finance located in New York City.  The Firm's platform invests in developing ground-up residential properties, in addition to originating senior and subordinate loans to commercial real estate entities with a focus on residential developments in New York City. The loan types include land loans, bridge to construction loans and construction loans.

Job Description-Duties & Responsibilities

Be Aviv is seeking an Acquisitions Analyst to join our team.  The analyst will assist the management in coordinating and managing all the acquisition, due diligence and financing process.

This individual will be responsible to:

  • Support Be Aviv’s management in their investment decision-making and to work with management in understanding Be Aviv’s investment parameters and resource allocation.
  • Identify, analyze and underwrite real property acquisition opportunities suitable for the company with a focus on debt and development opportunities in New York City. All opportunities must be based on a clear investment rationale and business plan, to be supported by the analyst’s own understanding of investment strategies as well as effective use of the company and outside resources.
  • Secure relevant, reliable market data to support underwriting and positioning of new opportunities and defend assumptions in internal and external project review sessions.
  • Analyze the potential opportunities and assist in the initial project-level due diligence and business plan for potential debt and development opportunities. In order to leverage relationships and connect to market dynamics, the analyst must use market knowledge to structure and successfully execute the most favorable terms. In addition, the analyst will develop and manage acquisition proformas used to evaluate opportunities.
  • Support the team on project-related debt and equity transactions including maintain market knowledge, gathering market data and assisting in the preparation of investment-level briefings and company presentations.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills required.

• Good judgment and ability to take initiative, function independently, and work in close cooperation with others.

• Must be able to work on several opportunities simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment; balancing competing priorities and multiple project assignments.

• Must meet deadlines and consistently follow up on details

• Attentive to detail, proactive, discreet, and dependable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to real estate (construction, finance, economics).

• 2-5 years of previous experience in real estate, construction, finance, brokerage, development, or investment-related business.

• Experience with financial underwriting and modeling required.

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
