Since 1981, SILVERMAN, founded by brothers Eric and Paul Silverman, has been dedicated to transforming neighborhoods. They have restored historic landmarks, championed the development of mixed-use buildings, created affordable housing, and attracted commercial and industrial tenants and creative new retail ventures. SILVERMAN has developed over 1,000 residences and more than 500,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space producing thousands of jobs and new households.
Silverman seeks an enthusiastic intern with a proven interest in real estate development to assist our team for the spring on a part-time basis (2-3 days a week). This is an opportunity to gain exposure to all facets of an active development company.
Candidate Qualifications
· Highly organized, flexible, and detail oriented
· Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
· Highly developed writing and communication skills
· Currently enrolled in college or graduate level courses in a related field
· Previous exposure to building construction, architecture, engineering, real estate marketing, financial analysis, or property management is a plus.
· Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
Responsibilities
· Support project managers in planning and executing mixed-use projects
· Assist in permitting process for variety of project types
· Develop relationships and communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and city officials
· Carry out any and all necessary tasks in a busy office environment
