Position Summary

This position represents an integral new addition to our client's growing development team.  The Development team has direct oversite of development projects, construction services and capital improvements for a growing portfolio of Retail and Mixed-Use properties.  The Senior Associate will be dedicated to carrying the operating vision of the team by assuring best in class project execution which meets timeline, budget and quality standards.  This role is ideally suited for a motivated individual seeking a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, manage and direct outsource development and/or construction management consultant services and activities as the project requires

  • Partner with investment team to develop a business plan and underwrite ground up and redevelopment projects

  • Manage all aspects of design and construction activities including, contract management, entitlements, architect selection, contractor and consultant solicitation, design and construction document review, and construction management and administration

  • Create and maintain development schedule for deliverables required by construction and design team

  • Manage project proformas - budgets, schedule, timing, market assumptions, underwriting assumptions

  • Work closely with operating partners

  • Administer the collection of acceptable certificates of insurance, lien waivers and other required project documents, process consultant and contractor payments, monitor tenant improvement allowance budgets, and maintain project files.

  • Develop and maintain cash management reports; cash flow, capital expenditures, project budget

  • Update monthly development reports for distribution

  • Attends work as scheduled to support the ongoing success of the company

  • Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 Years of experience in Real Estate Development

  • Real Estate investment experience a PLUS

  • Exposure to retail and mixed-use assets a PLUS

  • Undergraduate degree required, master’s degree in business or development PREFERRED

  • Expert understanding of land use, zoning and entitlement law

  • High-level understanding of contract law, comfortable working with internal and external legal counsel

  • Executive presence; able to articulate strategy with portfolio company management teams

  • High level of proficiency in Excel and strong financial modeling skills

  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment with firm deadlines

  • Strong and confident communication skills; and meticulous attention to detail is essential
