A commercial real estate company is looking for a CAD Designer to join its Development and Construction team. The CAD Designer is responsible for providing the CAD support required to conduct key business operations within a portfolio of retail shopping centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update CAD files (site plans, leasing plans, LOD’s, etc.) for use in various aspects of company’s daily business
  • Create feasibility studies and schematic designs for site layout modifications,  prospective new and remodeled stores, and building envelope modifications 
  • Support all leasing initiatives with plans, LOD’s, and marketing plans to assist in closing deals
  • Update plans to accurately reflect current conditions at all properties, depicting leased and available tenant spaces
  • Effectively communicate design concepts/intent thru drawings and verbal/written communication

 

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in CAD design for the real estate or construction industry, with at least 2-3 years in Retail design with strong working knowledge of design and operational standards for the Retail industry 
  • Bachelor's degree or Associates degree with concentration in relevant coursework (Architecture, Civil design, CAD design, etc.) is preferred.  Relevant professional certifications are a plus
  • Experience in adapting retailer prototype information to a particular site, modifying existing site plan and/or building spaces to meet retailers’ requirements
  • Must be highly proficient in AutoCAD, and possess working knowledge of REVIT-BIM software. Proficiency in Photoshop, SketchUp, or other related software is highly desired Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, are required
  • Strong programming and space planning skills and working knowledge of basic site layout and design, building standards and building structure 
  • Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, with a capability of managing multiple projects/deliverables within expected timelines and to high standards
  • Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate design solutions, describing the vision as well as any programmatic, technical, and/or regulatory constraints that may have an impact them 
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment and build and maintain effective professional/client relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply creativity in implementation and problem solving
