Financial Analyst, Asset Management

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A Financial Analyst with a passion for commercial real estate and a deep desire to learn about the investment and asset management of apartment communities and commercial properties.  This individual must have the skills to create and analyze financial models,  understand multiple real estate valuation methods, and engage with various groups throughout Southern Management Companies including, but not limited to, accounting, property management, procurement, and marketing.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• Creating and maintaining cash flow models for a portfolio of multifamily residential and/or commercial assets
• Responding to investor inquiries and preparing valuation analysis
• Supporting the commercial division by assisting with budget preparation and other analysis
• Working closely with the residential division and asset management in preparing annual business plans
• Providing financial analysis on pricing strategies, renovation plans and other project and portfolio level ROI opportunities
• Participating in multifamily financing and development opportunities
• Analyzing monthly financial statements to identify trends and anomalies
• Working with a team to create a quarterly reporting package and update it report as needed
• Monitoring residential and commercial operations and market trends and assisting with the development of strategies maximizing profitability
• Contributing to team/company engagement efforts
• Performing other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor 

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel spreadsheets
• Professional presentation and superior written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for real estate, focused attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
• Dependability as a team member who always gives their best and pitches in when others need help to ensure that collectively the team meets its goals
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfort operating independently in fast paced, unstructured environments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in real estate, finance or business administration
• 0 - 2 years of real estate experience in investments, asset management, or development
