Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in real estate development with expertise in mixed-use development in an urban area
  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in education, training and experience
  • Coursework in real estate, business administration, urban planning, economics, construction management, or architecture or an advanced degree in an area of expertise
  • Strong written, presentation, and general communication skills
  • Ability to review and comment on architectural drawings, engineering reports and drawings, pro formas, and legal documents
  • Ability to relate well with others, build rapport and effective relationships, 
  • Ability to diffuse high-tension situations with tactful, diplomatic skills 
  • Ability to give constructive feedback using tough-minded goal-oriented strategies
  • Decisive yet flexible; disciplined and focused on business fundamentals

Job Summary: 

Our Senior Development Associate reports directly to the Director of Development and supports Bedrock real estate development projects from initial conception to opening. They provide comprehensive business support and functions as an owner's representative to ensure projects meet company goals. The Senior Development Associate interacts with Bedrock's construction, finance, architecture and other teams as well as outside consultants to plan, program and design developer development projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support multiple development projects Under the direction of a Director of Development, including ground-up and adaptive reuse mixed-use, residential and office buildings, parking garages and public spaces
  • Provide project management and intellectual support for each project to ensure timely and well-informed decision from Bedrock leadership
  • Provide support to Development Managers and Directors on all aspects of a development in terms of schedule, budget, design, construction, marketing and branding, and leasing.
  • Contribute to the review of architectural, engineering, marketing, and financial deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and impact
  • Compile and produce documents that summarize business issues concerning development projects in support of internal company conversations, leadership meetings, in which documents will encompass topics such as deal structure, schedule, budget, programming, marketing, branding, leasing, and entitlements
  • Identify potential solutions to development issues (public land use policy, transportation planning, utilities and infrastructure, impact identification and mitigation, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the company's interdisciplinary teams to prepare timely, consistent, and accurate information, including pro formas and other financial analysis, architectural drawings, construction schedules, cost estimates, and any other input needed to drive decisions
  • Track real estate trends, innovative development practices and disseminates information to teams as it applies to projects
  • Prepare presentations, reports, analyses, and information packets at various stages in the development process to drive decisions
  • Communicate progress of developments to Directors of Development
