Capital Raising Manager

 

Position Summary:

Strata Equity Group is seeking a candidate to serve as the Capital Raising Manager who will be responsible for securing real estate investment capital from institutional investors, family offices, and high net worth individuals. Strata is seeking a candidate to support in capital raising efforts and that can both identify well-qualified investor groups and quickly develop relationships with existing investor networks. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, one that quickly educates themselves on the company’s investment strategy and the key trends in the industry, and one that is proactive in managing an effective investor relations platform. Over time, the role would include future capital markets strategies, including contributing to marketing materials, fund formation, and industry thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities and Roles:

  • Support the capital raising process for Strata’s investment management platform.
  • Identify potential investors and develop proper points of access, both direct and indirect, in order to develop relationships for capital raising with Registered Investment Advisors, institutional/corporate, Family Offices, and high net worth investors, etc.
  • Support fundraising from existing investor network; leverage Strata’s existing relationships and cultivate expansion of their investor base.
  • Serve as a point of contact between the existing and prospective investors; organize meetings with investors to review investment strategy and performance.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Strata’s investment strategy and ability to successfully articulate that strategy to the market.
  • Research competitive funds; compile strategy, pricing and investor trends.
  • Interface with the brokerage community and investors and be able to speak credibly about the investment process in order to develop investment opportunities.
  • Establish process management to track measured sales targets and client communications.
  • Support team in developing specialized client presentations and ensure marketing materials are up to date.
  • Support team and back-office with investor onboarding and capital calls
  • Contribute to ongoing development of new strategies and products based on fundraising feedback.

Candidate Attributes and Qualifications:

Prior Experience:

  • Demonstrated skills and ability to raise capital from institutional and/or retail investors.
  • Five plus years of relevant real estate, private equity, M&A, transactional due diligence and/or venture capital experience highly desired.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of real estate equity investments, investors, fund offerings and fund structures.

  • Excellent due diligence, analytical, negotiating, deal structuring and financial skills.
  • Experience in originating and/or structuring complex debt and equity transactions.
  • Fluent in interpreting and analyzing financial statements, property material documents, and legal documentation. Ability to understand the investment risks and the methods to mitigate the risks in structuring investments.
  • Maturity and communication skills to successfully integrate into Strata’s organizational structure and culture.
  • Well-organized; entrepreneurial work ethic; good administrative skills; attention to detail.
  • Strong, effective negotiation skills.
  • Intelligent, creative thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Unquestioned personal and professional integrity.
  • Proficiency in modern and common technology in order to work efficiently and collaboratively; prior experience using Hubspot or equivalent a plus.
  • Proficiency to tailor high-quality, format-consistent, succinct messaging when producing marketing materials and documentation.
  • Prior licensed as a broker-dealer / placement agent a plus.
  • Pre-existing, broad network of established industry relationships is a plus.
  • Fluency or business-competency in Spanish is a plus.

Terms and Compensation:

Full-Time Employment.

Compensation based on prior experience and employment terms. Combination of base salary, bonus, commission (if licensed) to be considered. Attractive benefits are offered.

 

Location:

Flexible work arrangement. Headquarters in San Diego, CA. Existing presence in New York City. Essential to understand the company’s culture, thus frequent travel to San Diego would be expected in the future.
