The Middle Market equity platform co-invests with local operating partners in joint ventures across the U.S. targeting value-add opportunities in all property asset classes including office, retail, multifamily, self-storage, hotels and industrial.

The Opportunity

Blue Vista’s Middle Market Equity Platform is seeking to hire a real estate professional with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience with a focus on portfolio management.  The right candidate will be part of an intense, highly academic team of real estate professionals and should therefore possess a strong academic track record and a desire to work as part of an integrated investment management team.  The position includes a varying and challenging set of high-level responsibilities and an opportunity for growth in an expanding, well-capitalized real estate private equity company.

Responsibilities/essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain financial models to track operating performance and project asset and fund-level returns
• Build new financial models to inform strategic investment decisions
• Assist with quarterly investor reporting
• Manage quarterly fair market valuation process
• Coordinate with asset managers to draft annual budgets, conduct investment analysis, and forecast returns
• Participate in due diligence requests for prospective investors during capital raising process
• Respond to ad hoc investor requests
• Prepare presentations for investor meetings
• Track macroeconomic and market research to help contribute to Blue Vista’s internal research efforts

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, or related field
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience within financial services. Real estate experience preferred
• Excellent analytical skills including a strong command of Excel
• Advanced knowledge of accounting fundamentals
• Proficiency with property valuation software (Argus Enterprise)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
• Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
