Senior Manager of Education Content

 

NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association based in Herndon, Virginia, is seeking a senior manager of education content to oversee educational content of the organization related to conference programming (both online and live), on demand courses, webinars, workshops/seminars, podcasts, etc. The position works with the Vice President of Education, the Knowledge and Research team, volunteer committees, and SMEs to identify the most relevant and timely industry topics and create and execute an educational content strategy that meets the needs of members.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Educational content strategy:

    • Works with VP of Education to create, deploy and analyze survey and industry research to identify timely topics, trends, and member/industry needs; help to organize and conduct member focus groups. 
    • Works with VP of Education, Education Committees/Councils, and other members of the Sr. Staff (Knowledge and Research team, Business Development team, etc.) to create an annual strategy for content deployment; identifies the most appropriate educational format deliveries for each initiative. 
    • Mines NAIOP data, industry research sources, other industry association web sites, and local chapter events for conference program ideas/content for recommendations to Committees and VP of Education
    • Creates, maintains, and updates database of industry thought leaders.
    • Tracks and reports out on current trends and issues occurring within commercial real estate; identifies new opportunities for delivering high-impact content. 
    • Tracks and reports out on current trends in educational content delivery and makes recommendations on new formats (podcasts, video series’, app creation, virtual tours, etc.).

 

Conference Programming (Live and Virtual):

    • Responsible for the overall programming, sessions, and schedule for 5-7 conferences per year (mixture of live and virtual).
    • Works with the planning committees to identify and confirm topics, speakers, and schedule for conference.
    • Collaborates with other Education Team members to schedule, organize and conduct speaker prep calls. 
    • Works with the local chapter(s) to identify and confirm project tours – virtual and/or live. Manages all communication and customer service for all tour hosts. Organizes and executes all tour host prep calls. Serves as on-site contact for tour hosts. 
    • Works with meetings, marketing, and business development staff to effectively communicate schedule and program changes; participates actively in planning meetings for conferences.
    • Actively works with speakers in crafting their content and delivery of conference sessions. 
    • Assists in the live production of conferences by serving as the main point of contact for speakers and other assignments as needed.

 

Online Content Delivery:

    • Works closely with the VP of Education, volunteer committees, and the Sr. Manager of E-Learning to determine the most timely and relevant topics for future on-demand course delivery; assists with the development of a course outline, objectives, and target audiences for new courses. 
    • Participates actively in new course development process to assure high content integrity; helps with review process.
    • Works closely with industry SMEs and Sr. Manager of E-Learning to conduct reviews of online courses to keep up-to-date; helps with review process. 
    • Works with members of the senior staff to determine best projects to host virtual tours.  Works with the virtual tour vendor and developer/main stakeholder on all phases of development of tours, through delivery.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participates actively and cooperatively as a member of the Education and Conferences team for NAIOP;
  • Travels (approximately 10-20%) to NAIOP’s meetings and other events as needed; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
