Description
Marathon Asset Management is dedicated to seeking attractive absolute returns through investments in the global credit markets and real estate related markets with a long-term goal of building a world-class asset management platform. Our US real estate investment group currently has a need for an Analyst based in our New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Underwriting new debt and equity opportunities including the creation of complex financial models
- Preparing initial deal review summaries and preliminary loan analyses
- Preparing detailed investment memorandums for internal committees and investors
- Assisting with due diligence processes: Coordinating with 3rd party vendors and consultants, obtaining and organizing due diligence documentation and materials, performing site inspections and reviewing loan documents
- Fostering and maintaining relationships with brokers to solicit new transactions
- Drafting investment performance updates for fund investors
- Working with Head of Asset Management to provide support and assisting with asset management functions including preparation of monthly requisitions, maintaining project budgets and schedules, and overseeing contractors and subcontractors as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Real Estate
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as an analyst, real estate experience preferred
- Advanced excel modeling skills with the ability to create excel models from scratch and model partnership waterfall and promote structures
- Experience underwriting real estate investment opportunities and drafting investment memorandum
- Proficiency in Argus Software
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced environment and handle multiple projects at the same time. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
