Description
Maximizes the cost value proposition of electronic control systems by analyzing direct support services, vendor delivered services, and part management in relation to the life cycle cost of the instrument portfolio.
Working with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes.
Possesses the in-depth technical knowledge required for performing complex measurements, control equipment, instrumentation repair, and calibration tasks.
Assists the supervisor in monitoring and scheduling operations of technicians responsible for installing, calibrating, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical instrumentation according to client specifications.
Consult manuals, reading and interpret circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes.
Provides manager and client guidance regarding platform reliability and replacement, based on LCAM and RCM principles.
Organizes work processes and leads project assignments for instrumentation/calibration staff in order to fulfill contractual obligations to the client.
Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, calibrates, and maintains instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.
Documents daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.
Communicates with customer staff and outside contractors in the calibration, repair, and operation of equipment, as necessary.
Coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
Provides detailed technical training and orientation to staff and colleagues on specialized instrumentation or techniques. Performs other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training. Associates degree preferred in engineering field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience. Seven years of experience in manufacturing instrumentation and process control or installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or equivalent experience. Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry including measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes.
