Development Manager

Real estate development firm seeks a Development Manager for immediate hire. Our Company develops mixed-use, multifamily property in South Florida. Development Manager will work directly with Company principals and will be the main point of contact for contractors, architects, and third-party consultants from pre-development through project completion and lease-up. Employee will be heavily relied upon to manage the development process.  Must be a hyper-organized “task master” with the ability to multitask and manage people and process.  Company is growing entrepreneurial firm, so candidate will be expected to grow in the role and eventually take on additional responsibility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Organization of development process and multi-project tasks
• Engage, review, negotiate and approve third party reports
• Engage and negotiate third party agreements
• Coordinate architectural, civil, landscaping and other third-party design consultants on project design
• Develop project scheduling and manage deadlines
• Construction cost estimation and evaluation of early site and design considerations 
• Construction contract negotiation 
• Direct value engineering process with contractors and design consultants
• Manage owner-funded construction and FF&E
• Work with public utility companies and government organizations 
• Analyze RFI’s and Change Orders
• Make material selections and evaluate product specifications
• Provide detailed construction reporting and project updates
• Represent Company at scheduled OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) meetings
• Manage land-use approvals and permitting process 
• Make day-to-day construction-related decisions, respond to owner RFI’s

• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and lead people
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and drive
• Organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects in different stages all at once
• Ground-up new construction project experience with emphasis on multifamily 
• Understanding of roles, responsibilities and procedures of development
• Works well under pressure, in fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel
• Minimum 3 years' experience working in similar role at established firm
